The Ministry of Interior in Thailand has developed the DOPA-Digital ID system, which allows individuals to verify and authenticate their digital identity. This digital identity serves as a convenient and responsive communication tool for Thai citizens to interact with government agencies. With DOPA-Digital ID, users can easily and securely confirm their identity for electronic transactions, reducing the risk of fraudulent documents. During the initial phase of its launch, DOPA-Digital ID introduced the digital national identification card and basic registration services. These services include checking registration information, certifying registration records, changing destination, requesting house numbers, and updating addresses in the new digital residence registration system.

Currently, DOPA-Digital ID is being used to verify voting rights and supports the use of electronic ID cards through the ThaiD application in pre-election activities such as reporting election offenses. It also facilitates online voter verification for upcoming elections, as well as the introduction of a digital house registration system. This ensures that digital document enthusiasts have quick, secure, and up-to-date access to their desired services.
